Another day, another pro-abortion photo shared on facebook. Two of them, actually!
The first says that “no one wants an abortion”. Then, excuse me, but why have one? Why kill the baby? Because it’s inconvenient? Kids, in general, are inconvenient. People are inconvenient. They place demands on you and you have to do favors for them and with kids you have to feed them and change them and pay for them for the next 20 years or so. You have to buy them clothes and shoes and food, etc. People are inconvenient. Yet we don’t go around killing people who are inconvenient.
Oh, wait. Some people do do that. Nazis. Chariman Mao. Stalin. (To name a few.)
The next: comparing “fetuses” to illegal aliens, since they “don’t count” as people, “don’t have a birthday”, etc., etc. This is just sheer stupidity, but whatever. What else is a “fetus” except a human baby? That is what human babies look like before they are born. Hello? If a bear is pregnant, what is inside her is not something un-bear. It’s a baby bear. That is what a baby looks like at its stage of development. It’s a baby. What else could it possibly be? (Realistically–Rosemary’s Baby and Twilight don’t count here, guys.)
Another note: what the h-e-double hockey sticks does it means when people say that unless you’re a woman you can’t “judge” other people’s decisions? Um: I’m a woman. And I’m going to tell you, abortion is wrong. This is not about “what you do with your own body”–it’s about basic morality. It’s not “judging” someone else. It’s telling them it’s wrong. Murder is wrong. Stealing is wrong. Lying is wrong. Adultery is wrong. Remember those things called the 10 commandments? They’re commandments, not suggestions, folks. And given that women do not make babies on their own, I think men are entitled to an opinion.
Morality, for the most part, is black and white. It’s like math: 2+2=4. This is not debatable. If you say that it’s five, and I say it’s wrong, you can’t say “stop judging my opinion as wrong!” It is wrong. If I think the capital of England is Manchester, not London, people will tell me I’m wrong. If you have an abortion, that is wrong, and that is a grave sin. That’s the end of it. It’s not a judgment. It’s a fact.
And for the love of all things holy, if you’re going to say a baby isn’t a person, be intelligent and don’t say it’s an “organ”. A baby is many things, but it’s not an organ of the mother. An organ is a collection of tissue joined in a structural unit to serve a common function. Thus, your heart is an organ–pumps blood; your stomach is an organ–starts the digestion process; your lungs are organs–breathing; your pancreas is an organ–aids in release of enzymes, etc. to aid in digestion, and so forth. A baby is not an “organ”. It has its own separate DNA, it’s own genetic code. It is an ENTIRELY UNIQUE human being the moment it is conceived. Until it is born, it lives in its mother’s uterus. But it is not an “organ”.
